New Committee
As the newly-elected president of the 2010 FOOD Week committee, Cynthia Jarratt said she’s got a big job ahead of her. Following in the footsteps of outgoing president Tim Hansen, Mrs Jarratt said she and the committee were keen to ensure "Australia's longest running food festival continues its success."
"Tim as president for the last three years and as a local food producer has done a tremendous job. He has a wealth of food knowledge and contacts and has reigned during some jubilant as well as challenging times," she said.
"Key FOOD Week events such as the Night Markets and the Country Energy Food Affair have continued to be a success despite, at times, Mother Nature’s best attempts to dampen spirits. And the 100-Mile dinner held in Canowindra in 2009 was just a magnificent feat for the committee, organisers and the entire region."
"It’s a great privilege to be a part of an organisation that attracts chefs, producers and food lovers from right across the country and although I’m excited about the role I’m equally - nervous as all hell!"
Scott Turner, owner and operator of the Delish Café and for the past few years a committee member, is one of the familiar faces on the new committee taking on the role of vice president while Edwena Mitchell, another local identity and well known caterer, continues her role as Treasurer.
The remaining executive committee includes Secretary Adelaide Harris, a food and recipe writer, Ayoma Gooneratne (from Red Chilli Deli), Phillip Baker and outgoing president Tim Hansen.
